Abstract: This document defines the technical characteristics of electronic projection rooms of the "digital cinema room" type. It establishes the different quality levels corresponding to the definitions given in clause 3.2.

It is recalled that these characteristics must also comply with the provisions of the most recent edition of the Regulation "Fire Safety – Establishments Open to the Public", published by the Journaux Officiels, and with the provisions of standard NF S 27-001 "Dimensional characteristics of cinema auditoriums". The CST publishes a technical recommendation adapting the provisions of that standard to the dimensional characteristics of electronic images.

The technology choices made for the capture and post-production of the images making up the programme are outside the scope of this standard. Only the final characteristics of the images and sounds used directly for projection are taken into account.

All distribution technologies (transfer and projection), present or future, that achieve the required results are permitted.
Abstract (French): Le présent document définit les caractéristiques techniques des salles de projection électronique de type "salle de cinéma numérique". Il établit les différents niveaux de qualité correspondants aux définitions données dans la clause 3.2.

Il est rappelé que ces caractéristiques doivent en outre respecter les stipulations mentionnées dans la plus récente édition du Règlement "Sécurité contre l'Incendie - Établissements recevant du Public", édité par les Journaux Officiels, ainsi qu’aux dispositions de la norme NF S 27-001 "Caractéristiques dimensionnelles des salles de spectacles cinématographiques". La CST édite une recommandation technique permettant d'adapter les stipulations de cette norme aux caractéristiques dimensionnelles des images de type électronique.

Les choix technologiques retenus pour la captation et la post production des images constituant le programme ne sont pas du domaine d'application de la présente norme. Seules les caractéristiques finales des images et des sons servant directement à la projection sont prises en compte.

Toutes les technologies de diffusion (transfert et projection), présentes ou futures, permettant d'obtenir les résultats demandés, sont admises.
