Abstract: Geneva is a meeting city. Between the United Nations, the Red Cross, the World Health Organization, and a host of non-governmental organizations, Geneva is a city that brings together leaders who are working toward a brighter future for humanity. Geneva is also the headquarters for many technical organizations, including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Moreover, it is because of the EBU that SMPTE went to Geneva to convene its first conference outside of the U.S., organized by the home office.
