Abstract: Nowadays, journalists are generating content for many different channels—broadcast, digital, social, over-the-top (OTT), and more. As a result, they are often working within separate production silos for each content type, which, in turn, slows down the entire storytelling process. Using technology to tie disparate workflows more closely together can bring real benefits to the journalist and the newsroom.

Andy Wormser is the director of support and project management at The Associated Press (AP), Washington, DC. He and his team support a global customer base running the ENPS news production system and AP Playbook, the SaaS-based global planning system. He has been with the AP since 2005 working in a variety of support and product management roles. He was also part of the team that launched the AP’s first online video news offering. Before the AP, he worked in local news as a reporter or assignment editor in Sioux City, IA, Burlington, VT, and Portland, ME. He was also news director for Hearst Television’s WPTZ-TV in Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, and the Medill School of Journalism, Evanston, IL.
