Before the AP, he worked in local news as a reporter or assignment editor in Sioux City, IA, Burlington, VT, and Portland, ME. He was also news director for Hearst Television’s WPTZ-TV in Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, and the Medill School of Journalism, Evanston, IL.",
