Abstract: Practical TV studio-lighting procedures are outlined with emphasis on monochromatic TV. Solutions are suggested for some of the lighting problems arising from the technical limitations of the TV system, the key-light system of TV lighting is contrasted with the base-light system, and considerations in the selection and placement of instruments are presented. Practical methods of controlling light so that it may contribute to the aesthetic realization of the show are touched upon.
