Abstract: The basic concept of electrolysis and the principle reactions at the electrodes of silver recovery from fixing baths are presented. Some design considerations for a recovery cell and for the choice of an appropriate dc power supply are given. The voltage regulation and feedback controls are described and the requisite instrumentation used in their application stipulated.
