Abstract: The theme of this paper is the translation of foreign language superimposed motion picture titles into Basic English. Interest in learning to speak Basic English by the peoples of the world can be aroused by distributing the regular Hollywood feature films with their original sound tracks, and with superimposed titles in the language of the people who will view them. A translation of the foreign superimposed title into Basic English would also be printed under the foreign title. Such a method of transmitting the dialogue of motion pictures to foreign-speaking audiences would unconsciously arouse an interest in learning English.
