- Abstract
- This paper outlines the continued growth of videotape in the production and broadcast of television programs. Particular attention is paid to the prime-time program situation where multi-camera productions, such as situation comedies, have begun to switch to videotape, and a new system is described to produce such multi-camera programs on videotape in the film style with all editing accomplished in post-production. The system includes an innovative post-production switcher to complement normal videotape post-production editing techniques.
