- Abstract
- Nineteen ninety-one saw broadcasters and equipment manufacturers making cautious advances to improve their television systems and products. Some additional attention to high technical quality was noted, current television formats further matured, and offerings were made in digital technology, new recording media, and some EDTV and HDTV. There was a clear indication of a trend towards multipurpose devices that would not only satisfy today's market, but would also provide an investment for the future.
