Abstract
There is a new awareness of the importance of resurrecting and preserving older color motion picture films. Unfortunately, in many instances, a faded color release print may be the only available record with which to work. Two new methods are described by which the color contrast and color balance can be corrected in a color duplicate made from a faded color print. The methods utilize a contrast-correcting color mask printed with the faded print to make a new internegative. This internegative is, in turn, used to produce restored prints.
