bio
Chris Lennon is president and CEO of MediAnswers, specialists in media technology workflow. He has more than 30 years of experience in the media business, and has led large projects on every continent except for Antarctica (where he'd love to go some day). He is known as the father of the widely-used Broadcast eXchange Format (BXF) standard, and has led a wide array of industry-wide efforts over the years. With MediAnswers, Lennon works with major media organizations around the world on leading-edge media technology projects. He also served as Standards Director for SMPTE, where he is a Fellow and past award winner. In addition to co-chairing the 34CS Technology Committee, Lennon serves on several SMPTE Drafting Groups.John Footenbio
John Footen began his work in television 30 years ago. He attended New York University where he received degrees in film and TV production, as well as computer science. He quickly combined the disciplines and played leadership roles in multiple manufacturing companies in developing products that used computers in media applications such as nonlinear video editing, video servers, and more. During this period, the teams he led received patents and two technical Emmys for their work. Over the past ten years, Footen has moved into systems integration and consulting where he has an opportunity to address many of the real-world workflow issues seen across many types of media companies. He has pioneered the use of SOA (Service Oriented Architectures) in media, giving numerous educational talks and articles on the subject and originally co-chairing the FIMS (Framework for Interoperable Media Services) effort by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Footen has authored a book on SOA in Media and is a SMPTE member as well as a Senior Member of IEEE. - Copyright
