Abstract: As I look over the list of active projects in the SMPTE Standards Community, the number of new technology areas being covered impresses me. As I mentioned in previous issues, we truly are in a breakneck world in the media industry. This month I want to focus on two or three key initiatives currently in standardization that seek to address the needs of some of the emerging technologies.
