- In March 2010, a SMPTE Study Group (SG) was formed to review cinema sound reproduction measurement methods and sound reproduction equipment improvements, as well as investigate possible updates or additions to the current electroacoustic response curve as standardized in B-Chain Electroacoustic Response (ST) 202:2010.

bio
Nelson Meacham retired after more than 30 years of employment with the Walt Disney Company. The majority of his career was spent designing audio and video systems for theme park attractions in the U.S., Japan, France, and Hong Kong. For five years starting in 1981, Meacham was the assistant sound director for Walt Disney Pictures and in 1994/1995 supervised the installation of a new film and digital screening room for Walt Disney Feature Animation. Meacham graduated from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. He is a Life-Fellow of SMPTE, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and member of the Audio Engineering Society.Tom Scottbio
Tom Scott has been involved with sound for motion pictures since 1978, employed at American Zoetrope, Dolby Laboratories, Saul Zaentz Film Center and Skywalker Sound. He has been the recipient of two Oscars, Academy Awards for Best Sound on the films The Right Stuff and Amadeus. He is currently employed as the vice president technology at Onstream Media in San Francisco. A Life Fellow of SMPTE, Scott has served the Society as Engineering Director, Motion Pictures, and Editorial Director, Motion Pictures. - Copyright
