- Abstract
- The production of ultrahigh-definition content that combines 4000-line, ultrahigh-definition images with 22.2-multichannel sound is, unlike current high-definition production techniques, based on the assumption that the images will be viewed on a large screen. This makes it important for the audience to have the sensation of being so immersed in the scene that they can feel as if they are actually there. Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) has, on the basis of its wide-ranging experience in content production, established production knowhow that is well suited for use with ultrahigh-definition television and ways to apply it in conventional high-definition production.
