Al Barton has spent 29 years as a technologist in production, post-production, and manufacturing for television and feature films. Most recently, he worked in production/post-production and distribution of feature films for Sony Pictures. He is chair of SMPTE TC 10E Essence and the Mastering WG under the 21DC Technology Committee. He participates in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), The International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and Intersociety Digital Cinema Forum (ISDCF) committees as well as the Workflow Subcommittee of the American Society for Cinematography (ASC) Technology Committee. Barton also participates in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) Image Interchange Framework (IIF) committees and was a key member of Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI); he helped create the digital cinema specification.John Hudsonbio
John Hudson is director of broadcast technology at Gennum Corp. in Burlington Canada. He began his career in the broadcast industry in 1984 when he joined the Design and Development group of Sony Broadcast and Professional Europe as a technician engineer. During his career, he has worked as a design engineer, project leader, system architect, program manager, product definition engineer, and technology strategist. — Hudson is active in television standards work. He is co-chair of TC10E and chairs the SMPTE 32NF20 Electrical Interfaces Working Group. He also chairs the Technical Committee of the HDcctv Alliance, which is responsible for the development of standards for the HDcctv Industry. - Copyright
