- Abstract
- The performance abilities of the recently-developed 3-tube color camera are advancing year by year. Its development requires new methods of evaluation. For example, warm-up time is a very important parameter for the recent battery supplied ENG camera. This time evaluation requires much precise data concerning color balance and registration error from various points in the picture within short time intervals. The conventional methods of using osciloscopes and photographs is now inadequate for meeting these requirements.

Takashi Sueoka majored in Communication Engineering at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. He joined NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corp.) immediately upon his graduation in 1967. Mr. Sueoka was engaged in network operation engineering for four years in Ohita. He transferred to the program service division in 1971, where he was engaged in VTR and film development. In 1976 he transferred to the Technical Research Laboratories, where he has worked in the field of TV color camera research. His areas of interest include color camera measurements and computer control, as well as Saticon tubes used in the U.S.K. WakuiNHK Technical Research Labs, and Shibasoku Co., Ltd. Tokyo, Japanbio
Kotaro Wakui was graduated from Yonezawa College of Engineering in 1950 and received the Dr. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1975. After graduation, he joined the NHK Sendai Central Broadcasting Station. In 1953 he was transferred to the Development & Workshop Division of the NHK Technical Research Laboratories, where he has conducted research and development on television cameras. He is now Deputy Director of the Laboratories.K. MurakamiNHK Technical Research Labs, and Shibasoku Co., Ltd. Tokyo, Japanbio
Kei Murakami, born in Hiroshima, Japan, studied electronic engineering at Hiroshima University. He is senior research engineer with NHK Technical Research Laboratories. Since 1968, he has worked in the application of digital techniques for broadcast equipment, especially computer control of color cameras.H.
