Abstract: We will take a close look at some of the issues that broadcasters are confronted with in a 1080I environment. Based on the recent broadcast experiences in North America, we will gain some insight into possible studio and control room systems and the challenges such as; multi-format operations, picture aspect ratios and multi-track audio recording. We will also discuss larger network issues including digital video transport solutions for STL, remote broadcast events and affiliated broadcast services.

bio
Richard first joined Leitch in 1983 where is was involved in research and development as well as manufacturing activities. He has over seven years field experience with a CBC affiliated broadcast facility in Canada. There he was involved in On-Air and Studio renewal projects as well as the radio station file server implementation. Richard is a computer specialist and has instructed computer courses at Sir Sanford Fleming College for three years. Richard has been sales manger for the Middle East markets and has presented a number of Digital Television lectures around the world. He is now a product specialist for the Leitch MPEG compression system in his role as Market Development Manager.
