Abstract
Managing the numerous TVs across Disney Studios is a monumental task. Each TV is set to specific settings and calibrated, which is time-consuming and error-prone. Productions often change settings to match a reference display for a scene, but the next user may not be aware of these changes, leading to support calls and lost time. This paper describes how LG and Disney partnered to build an Application Programming Interface (API) and application for controlling TV settings on a large scale. LG Electronics expanded its firmware's WebSocket-based API to control picture settings securely over the network. StudioLAB built a proprietary Command Line Interface (CLI) and web-based interface for interacting with displays, allowing TVs to be accessed from a central server. This system provides a valuable solution for display management challenges in the media industry, and Disney has begun deploying it across its studios.
