Abstract
Facial recognition technology (FRT) in broadcasting often lacks evaluation methods tailored to video content and the operational requirements of broad-casters and media archives. We present a user-centric framework that meets these needs through targeted performance metrics and operational workflows that improve relevance, efficiency, and compliance. The approach supports responsible deployment in television and media-archive contexts under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the European AI Act.
