Abstract: Sports broadcasters and streaming platforms are continuously seeking new ways to engage fans and to deliver immersive experiences that bring them closer to realtime action. To gain speed and efficiency, and to create new revenue opportunities, live sports producers are now exploring innovative technologies, with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) at the forefront.

Adrish Bera is the senior vice president of artificial intelligence and machine learning at Prime Focus Technologies (PFT), Burbank, CA, where he works on cutting-edge video recognition products and solutions through AI and ML for media and entertainment vertical to bring automation and efficiency in scale. Prior to PFT, he was the chief executive officer and a co-founder of Apptarix, creator of TeleTango, a social over-the-top platform. He is an industry veteran with 25 years of experience in mobile, telecom, and media industries doing end-to-end product management, product development, and software engineering. He is also a technology blogger with broad interests in AI/ML, technology marketing, smartphones, emerging market, and social and digital media. He received an MBA degree in software enterprise management from IIM Bangalore, Bengaluru, India, and has an engineering degree from NIT Durgapur, Durgapur, India.
