Abstract: As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, the display industry is in a state of flux. Excess manufacturing capacity and diminishing profits have led some manufacturers to shut down production of their most popular product, the liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. Companies are leery of making substantial capital investments in new display technology, unsure of if and when they will see a return on their investment.

He is a contributing editor to Sound and Communications Magazine, the leading trade publication for commercial audiovisual systems integrators. In addition, he edits and publishes HDTVexpert.com, a web blog focused on HDTV, digital media, wireless, and display technologies. He holds a BA degree in communications from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ, and an MS degree in television and film from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY.
