Abstract: Digital video broadcasting (DVB) is pleased to update SMPTE and its members on DVB’s recent work and its future direction. DVB greatly values the close working relationship we have enjoyed over many years, recognizing that SMPTE specifications are incorporated into a number of DVB’s standards in ways that would not have been possible without SMPTE’s support. These specifications used by DVB range from video and interface specifications through active format description and forward error correction schemes. We look forward to continuing this partnership in new areas of mutual interest over the coming years.
