Abstract: The critical requirements of NTSC color signal transmission make it necessary to analyze the characteristics of the coaxial cable used for this purpose within a television studio. This paper describes (a) the development of multi-element terminations to match the variation of cable impedance with frequency, (b) the design of networks to compensate for amplifier input capacitance, and (c) the provision of precise amplitude equalizers to compensate for cable attenuation.
