Abstract
A method has been devised to improve contrast when copying dissected images. An optical vernier is used during the copying exposure to sweep the narrow image elements across the intervening strips of emulsions by an amount just less than the pitch spacing of the line elements. This obviates the dilution of the contrast by the light that would otherwise be transmitted through the relatively large areas of unexposed emulsion.
