Abstract
In previous articles in this series, we discussed the various types of signals used in television studios. Now that digital signals are becoming commonplace in television and production facilities, methods for maintaining a high level of quality control are needed. In this article, we will discuss the 50 and 75-ohm (Ω) connectors used, jitter in digital systems, and the use of the SDI check field or pathological test signal. EDH evaluation methods will be addressed in a later article.
