The Slitting of 35/32mm Films

Abstract: The problem of precision slitting of a strand of 35/32mm film into two 16mm films is discussed. The machines which were designed and constructed for this purpose are described in detail. These machines are fully automatic in operation and incorporate gauging devices, micrometer adjustments and safety features. Measurement of the slit films on an optical comparator and quality control procedures are described.
