Abstract: A self-normalling video jack which replaces the plug-normalling jacks currently employed in video systems has been developed by CBS Television Network Engineering. The jack, now in full-scale operation, makes normalling plugs and terminating plugs unnecessary, as self-contained switching contacts and terminating resistors perform these functions. The self-normalling jack and its application are discussed.
