Ruediger Sand was born in 1931 in Koenigsberg, Germany. He studied Telecommunication Engineering at the Ohm-Polytechnikum in Nuremberg until 1958 and received the degree of Diplom-Ingenieur (FH). That year he joined the IRT (Institute of Broadcasting Engineering) in Munich, where he worked in the department for Advanced Technologies on television system and studio equipment. Since 1975 he is head of the TV Display Technology department. He is a member of the FKTG in Germany.
