Abstract
We have developed a family of technologies that address the utilization of frequency spectrum and we are a proponent for a U.S, HDTV terrestrial transmission system. We have applied our Genesys™ Technologies to create the only single channel, fully compatible simulcast HDTV system.

Richard Gerdes has been involved in the design of video and image processing systems since 1960. In 1962, while employed by Kitt Peak National Obervatory, he designed and built a 4000-line raster progressive scan, a 4000-line horizontal resolution orthicon system for astronomical applications. From 1965 to 1976, Gerdes developed direct view, vector-based three-dimensional imaging systems used in Hollywood-produced movies, television programs, and laser light shows. From 1979 to now, he designed a number of monolithic integrated circuits for professiona audio and video system equipment manufacturers Since 1982, he been involved in the development of the GenesysTM technologies and resulting hardware. Gerdes received a B.S.E.E. degree in 1962 and did post-graduate work at the University of Arizone. He holds several patents in the signal processing and communication fields.
