- Abstract
- In 1986 the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers published a recommended practice (RP-133) specifying a test pattern for medical imaging applications. This test pattern has enjoyed wide acceptance in the medical imaging community. Use of the test pattern for acceptance testing, video monitor and image recording device set-up, and quality control will be described. Examples of problems detected with the test pattern will be presented. The use of this test pattern for laser camera (printer) applications will also be discussed.
