Abstract: Since the rapid increase of color programs and color television sets, viewers have been troubled by lack of color uniformity from channel to channel. This is partially because some of the color adjustments, especially color camera and monitor adjustments, still depend on the visual sense of the technician. A new adjustment method eliminates such misadjustments; it consists of adjusting the white balance, contrast hue and saturation of color monitors to obtain a standard picture quality; picking up a color slide by color camera and displaying it on a monitor; and adjusting the camera system comparing the picture on the monitor with a slide placed beside the monitor. Since the human eye can discriminate color differences in detail by comparing them simultaneously, more precise adjustment can be expected.
