- The 1080p/24 format has become widely popular for transferring film images to HDTV tape at the native 24 frame/sec film rate. The immediate appeal of 1080p/24 encouraged Sony, Panasonic, and others, to develop 24p cameras, to enable cinematographers to record directly into this video format. This paper is a review of the new format and some of the tools available to take advantage of the technology.

He has held positions as international sales manager and director of marketing at Leitch Technology and director of sales for M/A Electronics Ltd. He has worked in the fields of AM and FM radio, optics, satellite communications, and broadcast video. Strachan is a graduate of the former Institute of Electronic and Radio Engineers in the U.K. and has authored numerous articles on analog, digital, and HDTV television and on closed captioning. - Copyright
