Environmental Footprint: Its Boundaries, Measurement, and Consequences… a Discussion for Broadcasters

Simon Tuff is one of the BBC's Technology Partners, leading part of the corporation's internal technical consulting team which is helping drive the transformation of public service broadcasting. — He joined the BBC in 1988, initially working on U.K. national radio networks to local stations, plus overseas service with the British Forces Broadcasting Service in Hong Kong and the BBC World service in Indonesia. — Subsequently, Tuff was central to the transformation of BBC Network Radio from five analog services to ten digital ones, including the launch of five new digital radio stations in 2002, the rebuilding of Broadcasting House, and the extension of the DAB transmitter network. — More recently, he has been working on surround sound for HD television, the transformation of the BBC's self provide technology organization, the design of advanced architectures providing the digital glue for broadcasting and business systems, as well as grappling with the carbon footprint of the corporations technology. — Tuff is a freeman of the City of London and a committee member for the Lime Street Ward.
