- Abstract
- Perforated-type film has certain inherent advantages as a recording medium. Performance characteristics of flutter, drift, skew and general operational stability of a typical transport system using 35mm perforated film are given. Standard 5-mil cellulose acetate, as well as 3-mil and 1 1/2-mil Mylar base films, is included at speeds of 9–126 ips (inches per second). Analysis of performance serves to indicate advantages to be gained in applying sprocket-hole film to instrumentation recording.
