Abstract: The components of the motion-picture camera are analyzed by the various ways of designing each component. The purpose is to help the camera designer provide the capabilities that will be most beneficial to the cinematographer. The cinematographer should also be helped to select a camera having the features that will be most useful to him for his particular type of work.
