bio
Matthias De Geyter obtained an M.Sc in electronics engineering from the University of Ghent in 2001, after which he joined the university's image processing research group (IPI). In 2004, he started working in VRT's R&D department (now called VRT-medialab), where he performed research on media adaptation and semantic web technologies and more recently on media exchange formats such as MXF and AAF and their use in system integration. Since 2001, De Geyter has co-authored several papers presented at international conferences.Nico Oortsbio
Nico Oorts obtained an M.Eng in electronics engineering from the KdG University College of Antwerp in 1999. From 1999 to 2001 he worked at VRT as application engineer and in 2001 he joined VRT's R&D department (now called VRT-medialab), where he performed research on topics such as advanced audio coding, MPEG-4, media adaptation, multichannel publication formats, and MPEG-21 and more recently on media system integration and media exchange formats. Since 2001, Oorts has co-authored several papers presented at international conferences.Luk OvermeireM.Sc in electronics engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium.bio
Luk Overmeire obtained an M.Sc in electronics engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium. Before joining VRT, he was a research engineer in Alcatel Bell, working on software-based services and ADSL digital filter design respectively. In 2002, he joined VRT's R&D department (now called VRT-medialab), where he first performed research in the signal processing area, such as metadata-based video encoding and rate control. Overmeire presently leads the competence group focusing on media production and audiovisual content processing. He is an active member of the EBU working group P/TVFile (MXF), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), and SMPTE. Since 1996, Overmeire has been involved in patent applications and has co-authored several papers presented at international conferences. - Copyright
