Abstract: At the present time the production of motion pictures in Austria is limited by lack of financial support. In Vienna, the center of the Austrian film industry, there were several important studios before the war, while now there are but four. Three of these are in current use and are very well equipped. They are not used by one company alone, but are rented to different ones in turn. The fourth studio, which is better equipped than the others, is not in use at present. It has been purchased by an English company, has been rebuilt for sound work, and production is scheduled for an early start.
