Abstract: The details of the organization of the Research Council of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are outlined, and brief sketches are presented of the work of several of the more important Committees working under the auspices of the Council, including the Committee on Improvement of Release Print Quality, the Silent Camera Committee, Committee on Screen Illumination, Committee on Industrial Education, the Scientific Committee, and the Sound Recording Committee.
