Abstract: Film moving with uniform velocity is scanned by a series of displaced rasters in such sequence that the system is applicable to 50- or 60-cycles/sec conditions. Three photomultipliers provide color analysis of the image, element by element, and directly produce a video-frequency signal. A particular equipment is described. The choice of Red, Green, Blue (RGB) coordinates is examined, and arrangements are discussed to minimize color flicker, to provide uniform field illumination and to offer the most accurate picture reproduction.
