Abstract: Since the number of training films in production by the Navy increased from 30 to 1800 in less than a year, it was found necessary to develop new techniques for the maintenance of adequate production control. This paper describes the punch-card type of machine bookkeeping system used by the Navy for the purpose of establishing and maintaining complete records on films in production and by means of which effective production control is exercised.
