Abstract: The original research problem confronting the producer of training films may be summarized as follows: (1) The isolation of the training problem demanding solution; (2) the specification of that problem in terms of trainee behavior; (3) the discovery of all factors which are expected to contribute to the solution of the behavior problem; (4) the selection of those factors which are to become the responsibility of the film; and (5) the presentation of these factors for visualization. The accuracy with which this problem is solved and the effectiveness with which it is presented can be the deciding factors in the development of the film as an instrument for the control of human behavior.
