Abstract: We have recently made a series of tests with several translucent and semi-transparent shutters and we have selected from among these shutters three tests which will best serve to illustrate the effect which is produced on the screen when using shutters of this kind. The equipment used in making these tests consisted of a G. E. Incandescent Lamphouse, using a 900 watt Mazda Lamp at 30 amperes with cinephor condensing system. A line screen was placed at the aperture and focused on a translucent screen, using a cinephor 7.75 E. F. No. 2 lens. The screen image was 18½×24½ in. The image was photographed from the rear of the screen and we have prepared a series of illustrations from the photographs taken.
