Abstract
A control system for a camcorder image-stabilizing lens barrel has been developed. Optimization of the control system through computer simulation maximized the effect of compensating image fluctuations, resulting in a high image fluctuation suppression rate (-37 dB). The results of computer simulation were consistent with those of experiments using prototype models, resulting in reduced development time. The application of this simulation technology has made it easier to adjust image fluctuation suppression characteristics. The load placed on the control microcomputer was decreased by reducing the drive frequency of the image stabilization motors. As a result, the camera control and image stabilization processes are both implemented in a one-chip microcomputer, which helps to minimize the control circuit.
