Abstract: The performance of typical carbon arcs suitable for TV studio lighting, particularly for special effects on stage and for process projection in both black-and-white and color TV are described. Color modified carbons, the light from which can be mixed with that from other types of light sources, with little or no filtering, are emphasized.
