Abstract: The building now occupied by the Du Mont Telecentre was formerly the Central Opera House of New York. This paper describes in detail the process of altering the more than 80-year-old building to fit the needs of a modern TV broadcasting station and explains why this building was selected by Du Mont. The paper describes the electronic equipment used in the Telecentre and architectural problems met and solved before the equipment was installed.
