Abstract: During the Past Year, the SMPTE has increased by many times its direct participation in the international standardization of the motion-picture system. Today, in fact, nearly one-quarter of the activity and of the budget of the office of our Staff Engineer is directed toward supporting the USA-held Secretariat of Technical Committee TC-36, “Cinematography,” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
