Abstract: With the introduction into theatres of equipment for reproducing sound in conjunction with the presentation of motion pictures, it was evident that the sound projector system might also be used for other purposes. Some of these special uses were referred to in Part No. 1 of a paper by Seriven and Santee, entitled “Western Electric Sound Projector Systems for Use in Motion Picture Theatres,” which was presented before this Society at Lake Placid last September. It is the purpose of this paper to outline these special applications in more detail and to describe briefly the apparatus which is furnished with Western Electric Sound Projector Systems for adapting them to these special uses.
