Abstract: Television in the United Arab Republic has undergone extensive development since the first broadcast on July 21, 1960. Adequate facilities for live broadcasts, video-tape recordings and films have been installed in the six studios in the television building in Cairo. The successive stages of the development of the UAR network are described in detail and plans for more extensive coverage are discussed.
