Abstract: The Journal Award for 1945 has been made to Charles J. Kunz, Herbert E. Goldberg, and Charles E. Ives. Appropriate certificates were presented to them by President D. E. Hyndman on the evening of October 16, 1945, at the dinner-dance held during the Fifty-Eighth Semi-Annual Technical Conference of the Society. This award is given annually for the most outstanding paper originally published in the Journal of the Society during the preceding calendar year. The title of the paper designated for this award is “Improvement in Illumination Efficiency of Motion Picture Printers,” published in the May 1944 issue. The paper describes the application of condenser and reflector systems for 2 typical printers with which increased illumination efficiency is obtainable.
