Abstract: This paper presents a review of the factors affecting the acoustic properties of auditoria. Emphasis is placed upon not only having these factors meet the previously accepted requirements for technical excellence, but those factors which contribute to the esthetic or dramatic effect, particularly as regards shape of the auditorium and the diffusion of reflected sound.
